Günter Simon was born in 1946. In January 1969 he successfully completed his studies as engineer for aircraft construction at the "Staatlichen Ingenieurschule für Maschinenwesen" in Aachen, and was award the title "Ing. (grad)" – nowadays called "Dipl.-Ing. (FH)". The first eight years of his career were spent in air traffic administration with the German airline Lufthansa in Frankfurt. Here he worked as a technical writer on the ‘technical air service regulations’, in other words, the mandatory work procedures issued to pilots and flight engineers.

This intensive contact with technical documentation in a large company enabled him to take over management of the "Tech. Writing Department" at the European headquarters of the US technology company MTS Systems Corporation in Berlin. After two years of successfully managing the team responsible for product descriptions and marketing documents, he started working freelance as a technical translator and author.

By fulfilling many challenging orders for other industrial companies, he expanded his specialist knowledge in: process and plant engineering, modern automotive engineering, various types of special purpose machine construction, and controller programmable machine and plant control.

In November 2000, a large German translation agency recruited him to bring his wide experience to the roles of project manager and supervisor of the German language department. Here he gained extensive knowledge of the latest translation memory tools (CAT-Tools) and acquired valuable experience in managing translation projects according to DIN standards.

Customers of angusi expert translations, founded by Günter Simon and Anja Filip in July 2005, can now benefit from over 40 years of working experience.
